CIVIL TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS:
If you received a civil traffic citation, the officer may have given an envelope with information containing your options with traffic tickets. If you do not have an information envelope listed below are your three options.
OPTION 1- INSTRUCTIONS FOR ATTENDING A DEFENSIVE DRIVING CLASS
Whether you are a resident of Arizona or not, your may be eligible to attend a defensive driving school and have one charge/violation dismissed and avoid points on your driving record. To verify whether you are eligible to attend traffic school please contact a traffic school provider by visiting the following website: http://www.azdrive.com
OPTION 2- INSTRUCTIONS FOR PAYING BY MAIL
If you are responsible for the violation and want to pay by mail you may do so by using the envelope provided by the officer. If you do not have an envelope and wish to pay by mail, please contact the Civil Division at (928) 341-8595. A clerk in that division will tell you the amount owed and give you further instructions.
OPTION 3- INSTRUCTIONS FOR REQUESTING A HEARING/ TRIAL BY MAIL
You may enter a plea of not responsible by mail by posting a bond and requesting a hearing. You may also appear in person to request a hearing date without posting bond; however, failure to appear at your hearing trial will result in your driver’s license being suspended.
